The fuel door on the 2025 Toyota 4Runner is designed for easy access, whether you're refueling at the gas station or checking fuel levels. Here’s how to open the fuel door properly and efficiently.

How to Open the Fuel Door

  1. Locate the Fuel Door:
The fuel door is located on the driver’s side of the vehicle, towards the rear. It is a circular door, usually marked with a fuel symbol or the word "Fuel" next to it.
  2. Press to Open:
    • To open the fuel door, simply press on the fuel door itself. You will hear a soft click, and the door will pop open slightly.
  3. Fully Open the Fuel Door:
Once the fuel door pops out, you can gently pull it fully open. The door is hinged and will stay in place while you refuel or check the fuel cap.

Fuel Door Locking Mechanism

  1. Automatic Locking: The fuel door automatically locks when the vehicle is locked. This helps prevent unauthorized access to the fuel cap and ensures that the door remains secure when not in use.
  2. Unlocking: To unlock the fuel door, simply unlock the vehicle using the key fob or by pulling the door handle to unlock the doors. The fuel door will automatically unlock as part of the vehicle’s locking system.

Closing the Fuel Door

  1. Close the Fuel Door:
After refueling or when you’re done inspecting the fuel cap, gently push the fuel door closed. You’ll hear a click when the door is securely latched.
  2. Ensure It’s Secure:
Make sure the fuel door is securely closed to prevent it from accidentally opening while driving.
