A dialed-in setup that balances performance, clearance, and aesthetics. 2025 4Runner TRD Sport build: Westcott Designs Lift Kit (6th Gen 4Runner) Toyo Open Country R/T Trail Tires – 285/75R17 Method Race Wheels – 703 Black +35 Offset (x4) Method Race Lugs OEM TPMS Sensor (x1) We mounted a set of 285/75R17 Toyo Open Country R/T Trail tires on Method 703 wheels in matte black with a +35 offset. This tire and wheel combo delivers excellent road manners, solid off-road grip, and a slightly taller profile that fills out the 6th Gen’s wheel wells just right. The +35 offset keeps the stance tucked in enough to avoid unnecessary trimming, while still giving it a more planted, aggressive look. To support the new tire size, we installed a Westcott Designs lift kit, which provides the clearance needed without dramatically altering factory geometry. A full alignment followed to get everything tracking properly, and we added new TPMS sensors and Method Race lugs to wrap up the install. I recently spent about 20 minutes at the dealership trying to figure out how to activate the kick sensor on my new 2025 4Runner. Surprisingly, none of the sales staff knew how it worked. After some trial and error, I discovered that the kick sensor is located on the right-hand (passenger) side of the rear bumper, which is a change from previous Toyota models where it was centered.
