For the years of the 5th Gen, the FOX shocks on the TRD Pro were king, but now Trailhunter is queued to rein supreme with its special Old Man Emu shocks.

Thoughts on having different shock packages between the two models?

You can't go wrong with either shock. FOX has the stronger brand name so it fits well on the TRD Pro. The FOX QS3s were tuned for more "off-road" focused driving (go-fast events with dialed compression and rebound valving). I would bet that the FOX shocks are stiffer on-road for better performance handling and they soften up as you progress into faster shock events. The OME shocks are based on the OME MT64 body with a redesigned internal specifically for the TrailHunter and are more tuned for overland stuff. Probably softer on-road for better ride comfort. Either way, both shocks will perform out of the box for most drivers. I doubt that many people will be able to tell the difference between the two unless they drive them both back to back on-road and off-road for hours on end. At the end of the day, most of these shocks are going to get ripped out and replaced with "better" high-performance, longer travel shocks anyway; KINGS, Fox race series, Dobinsons, Dirt Kings' new line of shocks, etc.
