Parking Support Brake (PKSB)
The Parking Support Brake (PKSB) is a vital safety system designed to prevent accidents while parking or reversing by automatically applying the brakes when an obstacle is detected in the vehicle's path.- System Functionality: PKSB uses radar and sensors to continuously monitor the area around the vehicle, detecting obstacles such as walls, posts, or other vehicles. When reversing or moving forward at low speeds, if an obstacle is detected in the vehicle’s path, PKSB can automatically apply the brakes to avoid a collision.
- Activation: PKSB is automatically engaged when the vehicle is in reverse (R) or forward at low speeds (e.g., during parking maneuvers). The system’s sensors constantly monitor the area for any obstructions, triggering braking if an obstacle is detected.
- Limitations: While PKSB is an advanced safety feature, it is important to note that the system may have limited effectiveness in detecting smaller objects, objects with irregular shapes, or obstacles that are very close to the vehicle. Additionally, PKSB may not be as effective in low-light conditions or adverse weather, which can obscure sensor readings.
- Warning: If PKSB is engaged and the system applies the brakes, a warning light will illuminate on the dashboard to inform the driver that the system has intervened.
Rear Camera Detection (RCD)

How to Use Parking Support Brake (PKSB) & Rear Camera Detection (RCD)
- Activating the Systems: Both PKSB and RCD are automatically activated when the vehicle is in reverse (R) or moving at low speeds in forward gear. However, the systems can be manually enabled or disabled through the vehicle's settings menu if preferred.
- Adjusting Settings: The sensitivity and operation of RCD and PKSB can be adjusted via the vehicle's multi-information display. It is recommended to periodically check the system’s settings to ensure it’s tailored to your driving conditions.
- Disabling the Systems: If desired, the Parking Support Brake (PKSB) and Rear Camera Detection (RCD) systems can be deactivated through the vehicle’s customization settings. However, it’s generally advisable to keep these systems enabled for enhanced safety, especially in parking scenarios.
