Replacing both the engine air filter and cabin air filter is a simple and effective way to maintain engine efficiency and interior air quality. Toyota recommends inspecting or replacing both filters at regular intervals, especially if you drive in dusty or off-road conditions.

Engine Air Filter
Toyota recommends checking the engine air filter every 15,000 miles or sooner in dirty environments. To replace it:- Open the hood and locate the air filter housing on the driver side
- Release the two clips holding the cover
- Lift the lid and remove the old filter
- Insert the new filter, ensuring it sits flush
- Re-secure the lid and clips
Cabin Air Filter
Toyota recommends checking the cabin air filter every 15,000 miles. To replace it:- Open the glove box
- Push in the sides to release the stops and lower it completely
- Remove the cabin filter housing cover
- Pull out the filter cartridge and inspect it
- Insert the new filter (make sure the AIR FLOW direction arrows point down)
- Reinstall the cover and glove box
