Ok guys, I booked my flight out to Vegas. I'll be looking to get as much information on these units as possible. Highly doubt that Toyota will actually bring these to production but if they do, that would be wild.

Both the throwback 4Runner TRD Surf and the CALTY Land Cruiser ROX will be on display at SEMA. I'm pretty hyped to see them in person.

Engine & Performance: It retains the original turbocharged 2.4L inline-four engine, delivering 278 hp and 317 lb-ft of torque through an eight-speed automatic transmission and full-time four-wheel drive.

Design Modifications: The four-door has been reworked into a two-door with a custom roll-cage and removable hardtop. It also features wider bodywork with custom fender flares and unique surf-themed graphics.

Suspension & Tires: Enhanced with a long-travel suspension and custom 17-inch wheels fitted with 37-inch tires.

Design Changes: The original SUV has been modified to feature a panoramic roof and a custom frame, removing the D-pillars to create a functional pickup bed.

Powertrain: Powered by a turbocharged i-FORCE MAX hybrid engine, it produces 326 hp and 465 lb-ft of torque.

Off-Road Features: Equipped with custom bumpers, reinforced skid plates, and large off-road wheels, this concept is ready for adventure.

Both concepts will be showcased at the 2024 SEMA Show from November 5-8, but are not for sale or production as of yet. We'll see what happens. Hopefully there will be enough interest to get these into full production.

Here are a few shots I grabbed from SEMA this year of the CALTY ROX. Great times and an incredible-looking platform. I really hope Toyota brings this one to production—it would be a fantastic competitor to the Bronco, with a more stable build (likely less problematic) and, of course, way better resale value. I owned a Bronco. It was fun but super problematic so I sold it and lost about $30k after 1 year. Was not a fun experience. But, I would buy one of these in a heartbeat.
