I'm going to be headed to the Sierra this winter and I know our owners manual states not to install tire chains. How is everyone getting around the "four-wheel/all-wheel drive vehicles must carry traction devices in chain control areas" requirement?

Ive driven in some pretty gnarly snow and you will be fine with some all terrain tires and 4WD. I would suggest some winter rated tires I have the wildpeak AT3W's but most will do just fine. I mean I would say keep some chains in your car if you want even though I do not haha but I always say if they are requiring vehicles with 4WD and snow tires to use chains then you probably don't want to be driving on it in the first place.
