Rotating your tires regularly is one of the simplest and most effective ways to extend tread life and maintain even wear across all four corners. Uneven tire wear can lead to poor handling, reduced traction, and premature replacement costs.

Recommended Rotation Interval
Toyota recommends rotating your tires every 5,000 miles, or during each service visit where tires are inspected.- If you regularly drive off-road or tow heavy loads, consider rotating more frequently
- Always check for abnormal wear patterns during rotation—this may point to alignment or suspension issues
Rotation Pattern
The 2025 4Runner uses a forward cross rotation pattern for most models:- Front tires move directly to the rear on the same side
- Rear tires move to the front on the opposite side (left rear → right front, right rear → left front)
Spare Tire Consideration
- If the spare tire matches your wheels and tires (full-size), it can be incorporated into the rotation pattern
- Check pressure and condition of the spare at each rotation, even if not used
TPMS Consideration After Rotation
If your 4Runner is equipped with a Tire Pressure Warning System (TPWS):- Perform wheel position registration using the multi-information display after rotating tires
- This ensures correct pressure readings are shown per wheel
- Instructions are on page 546 of the manual
