I just installed the Husky Low Profile Vent Visors (Husky Liners Outside Mount Low Profile Ventvisor), and overall, I’m happy with the fit and finish, but there are a few important things to note that weren’t covered in the included instructions (or lack thereof).

The kit only came with a QR code that links to a generic install video, not for the 6th Gen 4Runner. Unfortunately, that video didn’t match the form or mounting style of these particular visors, so you’re mostly on your own.

Outside-Mount Design

These visors are designed to mount on the outside of the window frame, which typically means no insertion into the window channel. However, the front visor pieces have an additional cutout lip that would make you think they're installed in the actual window channel.

How To Install

Do not insert the lip into the actual window channel (the rubber seal area where the window slides up and down).

Instead, tuck the lip into the gap near the side mirror base, where the mirror meets the window frame. This avoids interfering with the window mechanism.

If you install the front visors into the window track, the fit becomes too tight, and the windows may bounce back down or fail to fully close because the vehicle’s pinch sensors think there’s an obstruction.

Once installed correctly, the visors look great and perform well. The low-profile design is sleek, and the outside-mount means you avoid the hassle of sticky window channels or long-term wear to the rubber seals.

1. Stick the Lip Into the Side Mirror Cover Plastics

2. Peel 3M Tape & Stick the Other Side

3. Peel the Remaining 3M Tape Backing Once in Place

That's it. Pretty simple, just a couple of notes on where to position that front lip so that the window doesn't freak out every time you try to open and close the window.
