Okay, I know make your own decisions, etc....but whatever. I need some help. Here's my deal....I have a 2010 Limited that has been awesome, but I think I am ready for something different....and I want the tech. I went light offloading with a buddy in his built 2017 SR5. I had never ever been wheeling before. I loved it. High speed stuff. NOT rock crawling. I have some flexibility in price point. The Landcruiser with the full time 4 wheel drive makes sense, but I feel like I love the look of the 4 Runner. So, I want to keep an option open to explore off-roading. In my mind, if I go Limited or Platinum, I rule out offroading. So, do I go TRD Pro, or will that be too extreme? ....or do I give on the exterior appearance, and bite on a Landcruiser? I also wonder if part of what I loved offloading with my buddy had something to do with it being in 2 WD rather than a full time 4 WD thing....maybe it was looser? Talk to me!

TRD Sport premium? All the tech and comfort. Heated and optional ventilated seats. Part time 4WD. Cons - comes with 20 inch road wheels and tires. Depends on your off-roading needs.

Honestly, the only reason I upgraded from my Toyota Corolla was to go Off Roading. In my opinion, if you don’t plan on doing serious offloading, I would not get this card. It cost way too much for it to be just a street car. If you want an SUV, just get a cheap RAV4. They’re coming out with the new gen and it looks pretty cool. The picture below is of my Toyota Corolla in Monument Valley. Yeah this car made it down when they said that there was no way my car could make it down.

Yeah, the problem with the Premium is that it doesn't have dual climate control, and that is is street oriented. If I am going street, Platinum or Limited. If I want some off-road potential, it's the Pro or LC. Leaning LC....at the moment.

From what I understand the LC is more composed on the road, so during your daily drives it will have a better feel than the 4R. I have a ‘25 ORP and it transmits a LOT of small bumps into the cabin. It’s better than my ‘18 Tacoma was though. The 4R approach/break/departure angles are a bit better than the LC from what I’ve read, but not by much. Of course, LC has the FT4WD w/swaybar disconnect and center/rear lockers vs. the PT4WD system in the 4R. Really does depend on your budget/needs. I can tell you that I just conquered a 6/10 difficulty trail and didn’t feel like I needed any additional functionality (aside from maybe the swaybar disconnect). It’s a straight tank. I genuinely think that both vehicles are a great pick. Congrats on whatever you choose!

GL on your pursuit. I was leaning to the LC but saw too many “soccer mom” reviews. Cargo space limited, New gen issues, etc. My 2nd choice was Ineos Grenadier… but still too new to evaluate.

Yeah, still thinking, and leaning LC. I am not a fan of the 4 Runner interior, but love the LC interior. Anybody seen and/or experience the Limited and/or Platinum interior?

If you like the LC interior and not the 4R one, I think you've answered your question. Don't get the 1958, just get a regular one without the Premium pack, and make sure you get the Sway Bar Disconnects - you may not need them today, but they're $1200 today or $9000 over the parts counter
