Hey All,

Random thought mostly, especially since no one has any version of anything yet. But it occurred to me that this might be a thought for buyers that:

A - Intend to keep the 6th gen a long time and plan to drive it into the grave like many Toyota owners know they can do.

B - Intend to actually use their vehicle off road or in remote environments.

At this point we know what the claimed numbers are and that there are two options; 2.4L Turbo ICE or 2.4L Turbo Hybrid. HP/TQ output for those being 278/317 and 326/465 respectively. So my question is... if you know you want to keep it for a long or use it off road, which are you choosing? Me personally, I would avoid the hybrid system for off road and longevity. Weight, more to go wrong (complex), electric motor longevity is not great, battery fatigue... With a turbo engine you can upgrade performance VERY easily once a few years of R&D have been done by the aftermarket.

I think the design of mating the electric drive motor between the transmission and the 2.4L is a great move to create a multiplier instead of alternative drive system.
