Just installed the ladder a few days ago. Easy and quick install, you do need to drill but when you feel how sturdy this is compared to others, I fell it's worth it.
As much as I respect WCD and have multiple products from them and love them, including roof rack, sliders, lift components, brackets, etc, but I think they dropped the ball on the design of this ladder.
It's sturdy and the width of the uprights give great hand holds but the layout of the steps are horrible. Treads are too narrow for good foot placement when moving any type of weight up to the roof rack. First step is right on top of the bumper and right up against the hatch making it awkward to step up without kicking the hatch and the 2nd step is still very close to the hatch so it's weird for foot placement and not kicking the hatch, 3rd step is literally 1/4" from the plastic trim piece above the license plate. Rest of the steps are good but their also the one's you kinda don't need. Strongly recommend grip tape on the steps.
A 1" kickout at the bottom and wider steps would make this a great ladder.
(P.S.) maybe a no bottle opener option, I now have 4 bottle openers on the rear of my 4 Runner, also the only polished surface besides the black chrome lug nuts. lol
