Is PPF Worth it? Thinking about XPEL for my new 4Runner

So I think I am going to PPF wrap my new 6th Gen 4Runner. I plan to go a good bit of off-roading with this rig, and I want to keep that beautiful Heritage Blue paint looking brand new, or better I should say. I am leaning towards XPEL to make this happen and will also add a ceramic coat over the top of it as well. In the past, I went with a ceramic coat on my Tacoma, and while it was good for maintenance washes, it didn't protect the paint as well as I had hoped it would. So I am looking forward to seeing if PPF is worth it or not.

I don't know about for protecting the paint, but here is a story about XPEL just on headlights.

Around 2010 I had a 2008 saturn sky and my wife had a 2009 prius. Both vehicles had perfect headlight lenses at that time.
I had xpel put on my headlights and tail lights, she didn't.

Today the prius headlights are exactly as trash as you'd expect by now, and the sky headlights are still perfect.

Both vehicles have spent the entire time from then to now in the same exact environment. Both driven all year every year, both parked outdoors, in the same location, so same weather and everything. It's not a difference between toyota vs gm polycarbonate chemistry either because we used to go to meetups of other sky & solstice owners and most of those had fogged up headlights too, since years ago let alone now. Like in 2016 they were already half of them shot.

This must be the only time something actually lives up to it's advertizing claims.
