This 2025 Toyota 4Runner I just purchased will be my vehicle I use for long road trips (3 hours-12 hours vacation drives). As such I am trying to outfit it with things that I will use but also things I might need in case of an emergency, such as kinetic ropes, tool kits, tire inflator, flashlights, maxtrax, etc.

One of the things I am discovering, is compared to by minivan which can have the 2nd and 3rd rows lay flush to I have loads of space......well the 4runner not so much. As such, while it came with a cargo organizer that helps but has anybody come up with a better method of organizing items in the cargo space? I have thoughts about maybe getting a Pelican case and put as much in it as possible but that case would be too large.

At this point, I am going to have to use my 2nd row of seats for just regular luggage?

Also has anybody come up with a mount and location for a fire extinguisher.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

There are too many options to list for cargo management in the 4Runner; drawer system, soft boxes, hard boxes, etc. What exactly are you trying to store in the back? Maybe that will help narrow it down.

Fire extenguishers are usually mounted on MOLLE panels in the back of the 4Runner.

Perhaps we can be of assistance: Our system preserves your second row and allows you to have a sleeping platform when needed, while storing all your gear in the drawers themselves!

I opted to get the Cali Raised Led internal Molle Panels.
What I really appreciated about them was that they are super easy to install, and there is no need to drill or in any way damage your vehicle, so it is super easy to reset it back to factory settings.
I am still configuring it in terms of what I will be mounting, but for now the task is to attach my fire extinguisher (Still trying to find a bracket that satisfies my need for sleek design and rattle free functionality) and some sort of fan to pull cool air from the main cabin to cool the dog in the back.

I opted for the 2 side Molle Panels and did not get the raised shelf option as I was concerned about headroom for the dog.
