It is finally here! The KC Hilites Platform One Roof Rack and it does not disappoint! I have had this rack for a few months now and it has thoroughly impressed me. The design, the quality, and the functionality of the rack is top notch. This rack is designed to function seamlessly with KC Gravity light bars and they new SideCast lights that are extremely helpful in illuminating your camp site.

The one thing I have always hated about roof racks on the market was wiring lights to it and having to zip tie it everywhere. This rack solves that issue with channel all throughout the rails to give you a clean organized look when it comes to wiring. The mounting points on this rack are next level with pretty much a spot to mount something anywhere on the rack whether it be on the sides or the top and even on the bottom if you want to get creative.

The Platform One Roof Rack is ready for everything and can be equipped with just about anything you can think of!
Day trip or long trip, the Platform One has you covered when it comes to utility. From carrying your gear to illuminating the road ahead of you, the Platform one is the perfect addition to any adventure rig.

The cool thing about these SideCast lights is that they are designed to fit flush on the rack, but unlike other lights, they primarily shoot down to light up the area around your rig instead of blasting it straight out.

The Gravity Titan 8 light bar looks so good on the 6th Gen 4Runner and the rack is design around these light bars. It works seamlessly with install and fits perfectly. I highly recommend picking up the Gravity Titan as you can use it on white or amber.

Man I’m so close to pulling the trigger on this. Couple of questions though. Did you do a self install and was it straightforward? What aux switches are the lights mapped to? Is there anything you’re noticing that’s a con for this platform compared to others (besides the price)? Would love to see some additional photos from a distance to see how the rack looks in normal conditions. Thanks for posting!

Install is super straight forward. You just assemble the whole thing on the ground as well as wiring the side lights to it and grab another person and walk it over to the bolt holes. Once you line up the holes and bolt it in then you put the light bar in the two holes on the front. All the lights are hooked up to a switch pros so I have 4 buttons for all the lights, 2 for the light bar amber and white and 2 for the side lights amber and white.

As for cons, the closest thing to a con would be there is a decent amount of wind noise that you get with any rack but i rarely notice it. Im usually listening to music decently loud so I cant hear anything haha. The rack is just super well made and thought out. Maybe another con might be there are only two light bars to choose from like the style of light but that would be more personal preference as I think this style looks the best and it performs better as well.

If you have any other questions just let me know!

Beautiful rig @kophoto4x4 - we love that color. Bold move going with that color, but it turned out amazing... almost looks like a matte black in some environments, but in others the true color shines. Just a stunning color all the way around. Such a killer job on this build so far!!
