So as you all may know, I added XPEL Stealth PPF to my new 6th Gen 4Runner. But, it addition to this, they also added a ceramic coating to the top of it for ultimate protection. I was just a Land Between the Lakes, and got my 4R pretty muddy. I went to my local coin wash…and it was SO EASY to clean the mud off due to the coat. I’m a true believer.

5 Reasons to consider a ceramic coating.
  1. Protection Against UV Damage and Oxidation
Ceramic coating shields the paint from harmful UV rays, preventing oxidation, fading, and paint deterioration over time.
  2. Enhanced Scratch Resistance
While not completely scratch-proof, ceramic coatings add a harder layer over the paint that helps resist light scratches, swirl marks, and minor abrasions.
  3. Ease of Cleaning (Hydrophobic Properties)
Water, dirt, mud, and grime have a harder time sticking to the surface, making the vehicle much easier to wash and keeping it cleaner for longer periods.
  4. Deep Gloss and Improved Appearance
A ceramic-coated vehicle looks glossier and richer in color, enhancing the visual depth and shine of the paint compared to a non-coated surface.
  5. Chemical Resistance
Ceramic coatings protect against contaminants like bird droppings, acid rain, bug splatter, and road salts, which can otherwise stain or etch the paint.
So clean with just water.

@Jon not knowing much about ceramic coating can you comment on the approx cost and how long it took to apply?

Xpel ppf on the whole front end and down the lower sides, topped with the 8yr ceramic on the whole vehicle, except the wheels (I’ll coat the TE37’s when they show up, that’s an additional $700). $5300 for what I did, so $6k once the wheels are done.
