Just installed the Red Line Tuning Hood Struts from Cali Raised LED on our 6th Gen 2025 4Runner Hybrid, and the upgrade is a game changer. No more dealing with the factory hood prop getting in the way during engine work, this QuickLIFT system lifts the hood smoothly and holds it firmly with strong progressive-rate gas struts. It’s a simple bolt-on kit that installs using basic hand tools and mounts to existing points, making it super clean and straightforward. The quality is top-notch with zinc-plated and powder-coated brackets, plus the dampened motion at full extension protects the hood from stress. Designed and made in the USA, this kit fits both hybrid and non-hybrid 4Runners.

QuickLIFT Elite vs. Plus – What’s the Difference?

Redline Tuning offers two versions of their Hood QuickLIFT system: the Elite and the Plus. Both share the same bolt-in design and smooth, dampened lift function, but the key differences come down to materials, finish, and warranty.
  • QuickLIFT Elite: Brushed 316L stainless steel gas springs for maximum corrosion resistance and a clean, high-end look under the hood. The components are built to last and come backed by a 5-year warranty. The Elite series is ideal for those who want both function and a polished appearance, especially in harsh environments.
  • QuickLIFT Plus: Black e-coated steel gas springs with black annealed rods, giving the entire setup a stealthy, all-black look. While not stainless, these components are still built tough and include a 4-year warranty, making this a great value-focused option that maintains all of the core functionality.
Both systems mount the same way, with the large tube (gas spring body) attaching to the hood and the extending rod connecting to the lower ball stud.

One thing to note is that your ditch light brackets or ditch lights might contact your fender when the hood is fully extended. Check your ditch light clearance before installing these. Mine barely kissed the fenders but enough to make a mark.
