Black SR5 6th Gen 4Runner Photos

While at the 6th Gen 4Runner drive event, I was able to get some photos of the SR5 in the Black color. Toyota really did well with no ugly off white wheels and out of place chrome on this new SR5 model. The dark black/grey 17" wheels actually look pretty good. The blacked out badging is standard as well for this new 4R too. What do you think?

Looks good. Was surprised that the SR5 also looks good in white despite the contrast of the plasticky fender flares, which IMO look a lot better when painted in the body color. Overall, the 6th Gen styling is growing on me. Can't say I prefer it to the 5th Gen, too many creases, but it's not bad. Especially compared to the over-the-top styling of many other vehicles these days. And it certainly looks like a 4Runner.

In general, the SR5 appears to be a good deal relative to both the 5th Gen version and current choices in the market. 4WD and a third-row at $45K including destination fee -- that's hard to complain about for a vehicle that delivers so much utility and (presumably) Toyota quality. The MPG and torque gains are meaningful, and per reviews the on-road driving demeanor is much improved while retaining the off-road abilities of the 5th Gen. That's an accomplishment, and one that will be especially well appreciated should this new drivetrain prove reliable and durable.

Pricing on the upper trims is another matter. They all feel 3-5K high to me.

I agree. I thought the TRD OR would start at like 46-47 or so too.
