Hi there, I'm looking to get new tires for my 6th gen 4Runner and was wondering what tire/wheel sizes would work best for a mix of on-road and off-road driving?
I'm looking for something that balances daily driving comfort with decent off-road capability—any suggestions?
Thinking about a two inch lift with the wheels.
Thank you!

Good thread here on the biggest tire size with no lift: https://6thgen4runner.com/threads/biggest-tire-6th-gen-4runner-sr5-no-lift.834/

Small
Something around a 275/70R18 seems to be a good option on factory wheels without lift. If you're looking for the closest size on a 17" wheel equivalent, the closest would be a 275/75R17.

Medium
If you're looking to go with a 1-2" leveling kit, then the 285 sizes would be a good option. 285/70R18 or a 285/75R17 - depending on the wheel size you run.

Large
If you're looking at a 2" lift and want to go up in size even more, a 295/70R18 or 295/75R17 would be a good option.

Sounds like the 285s or 295s would be the best fit for you if you're looking at something like a Peak Suspension 2.25" leveling kit front and 2" rear spacer.

We have 285/75R17 and even before lifting and leveling, it didnt rub! Feel like its the best of both worlds. Thats whats in our icon pic, 285 and no lift.

With out a lift my 285 75 17 Methos NV +25 offset rubbed. I installed a Peak suspention 2.25 lift and no rubbing at full turn.

When testing for running, any chance you guys cycled the suspension completely and turned lock to lock?

Whats your set up, looking at 285/75r17 with +25 offset aswell.
That's almost exactly what we had before the lift and no rubbing, but we had +30mm offset. We didn't cycle suspension, just threw them on there and prayed, but at full lock, there was no rubbing. And at 34", the full-size spare still fits underneath, which is convenient but changes your departure angle. Might still get a swing out for when actually on the trails.

Here is pre-lift:

285/75 17 is what I’m leaning towards also, but I don’t want to do any trimming on this but still want the suspension to cycle fully
