The Top 7 Bolt-On Rock Sliders for the 2025+ 4Runner, Different Options for Kick-outs, Top-Plates, and More.

I’m looking at rock slider options for the new 6th Gen 4Runner and wanted to put everything I’ve found in one place. Sliders are on the top of my list at the moment. A lot of companies are finally starting to make them, so here are some of the brands I’m considering.

Things to Note

When shopping for rock sliders, keep in mind that some models may not come with threaded holes for mounting. In those cases, you might need additional hardware or extra steps to get them installed properly. You can read more about this in the thread here: https://6thgen4runner.com/threads/best-6th-gen-4runner-rock-sliders.972

HREW vs DOM

DOM is stronger, holds its shape better, and is what you want if you’re hitting real rocks. HREW is cheaper and fine for light trail use, but it will bend more easily under heavy impacts.

Angled vs Step

Flat or step sliders make it easier to get in and out, especially if your truck is lifted. Angled sliders tuck up higher for better clearance and rocker panel protection, but they’re harder to use as an actual step.

Cali Raised LED

Cali Raised offers a step edition slider for the 6th Gen that you can get with or without a kick-out. They even showed one holding the weight of the truck on Instagram, so strength doesn’t seem to be a question. I have ran their skid plates in the past and planning on running their stealth bumper in the future and so far everything they make is 10/10,

• DOM tubing construction
• Kick-out or straight options
• Raw, powder coat, or bedliner finishes

Check it out online: Cali Raised Rock Sliders
Starts at $889.99

Westcott Designs

Westcott lets you customize almost every detail, from the type of steel to the welding and angle. That level of choice is rare and makes them stand out. These options work for everyone from major rock crawlers to the weekend warriors, so it's a good idea to take a look at these and mess around with the options to fit your rig.

• DOM or HREW steel
• MIG or TIG welded
• 0° or 20° angle with or without top plates

Check it out online: Westcott Designs Rock Sliders
Starts at $999.00

CBI Offroad

Best Rocksliders_0004_CBI Offroad.jpg

CBI has a long track record, and its sliders are built to take a beating. They double as jacking points, which is something I’d prefer not to but would actually use on the trail. Strong enough to hold the entire weight of the vehicle, these know how to take a hit.

See a more in-depth review on these rock sliders here: https://6thgen4runner.com/threads/cbi-offroad-overland-rock-sliders-w-dom-tubing.433/

• DOM steel tubing
• Powder coat or bare finish
• Frame-mounted design

Check it out online: CBI Offroad Rock Sliders
Starts at $1,300.00

Dissent Offroad

Best Rocksliders_0003_Dissent.jpg

Dissent built theirs to work as both a slider and a fully functional step, which feels practical if your 4Runner is sitting taller. Dissent is not new to the game by any means, and that is clear here with a heavy-duty design built for real use. These guys are coming out with some insane parts for the 4Runner so I am keeping a close eye on new releases here.

You can see more of the dissent build here

• Steel construction
• Integrated step surface
• Designed for the 6th Gen 4Runner

Check it out online: Dissent Offroad Rock Sliders
Starts at $1,795.00

RCI Metalworks

Best Rocksliders_0002_RCI.jpg

RCI has been doing armor for a while, and their 6th Gen sliders carry that same tough, no-nonsense feel. If you are looking for a solid, affordable option this should be top of your list.

• Steel construction
• Frame-mounted design
• Finish options available

Check it out online: RCI Rock Sliders
Starts at $763.99

NYTOP

Best Rocksliders_0001_NYTOP.jpg

NYTOP actually posts stress test results, which is something you don’t see often. They’re heavy-duty and one of the best-looking options. NYTOPs offroad parts have been absolutely incredible love seeing everything they are doing and hope to keep seeing more soon.

• Steel construction
• Tested under heavy loads
• Tailored to the 6th Gen body lines

Check it out online: NYTOP Rock Sliders
Starts at $1,399.99

Restless Offroad

Restless puts extra detail into theirs with gussets, brackets, and solid mounting plates. They look like a heavy-duty option right out of the box, and offer light mounting to really get the most out of it.

• 1.75-inch DOM tubing
• Gusseted with thick mounting plates
• Includes rock light brackets and Grade 8 hardware

Check it out online: Restless Offroad Rock Sliders
Starts at $799.99

Final thoughts

This comes down to what your rig is going to be used for. The step editions are convenient for daily use and passengers, but they can stick out more on the trail. DOM tubing versus regular steel is another thing to weigh in DOM costs more but it’s proven to take hits without bending. At the end of the day, all of these will protect the rocker panels, it just depends on how much strength, finish quality, and convenience you want for your rig.

If I missed any or if there are any coming out that I should be aware of let me know!

I think you should also put the price point for each company. I personally have the Westcott Design 20* rock sliders myself but what people are willing to spend is a big part in deciding which ones they will get.

Yeah, I added the price point now. It just changes around so often, and the options change the price, so I just threw in the starter. Thanks for the tip.

Running the CBI rock sliders right now. These sliders took a pretty serious beating on our last few trips, and they held up just fine. They just hang a little lower than some sliders I've run in the past on the 5th Gen 4Runner, and there is a noticeable gap between the rocker panel and the slider. Curious to see if they come out with anything in the future that's a higher clearance slider. This slider is great for the occasional easy overland trail, but we're upgrading to the Dissent Offroad rock sliders because they sit a little higher up than the CBI sliders.

Here are a few shots of the CBI sliders:

I think the 20* rock sliders that Westcott Designs make work better for your usage.

The reason why I didn't go with Westcott is that they looked like they had the same gap that CBI does. And, I haven't seen any good photos of the 20-degree sliders that would convince me the gap isn't there. I'm sure the 20-degree sliders hide that gap much better, though, but at the end of the day, you can tell the Dissent sliders are tucked very close against the rocker panels.

I actually prefer an angled tube slider with a kickout over anything, but the way that Westcott shows their flat slider leaves one to believe that the gap is still present on an angled set of sliders.

Can you share some shots of your angled sliders?
