The first official commercial for the 6th Gen just dropped from Toyota. It seems like they are really embracing the outdoors and realizing the majority of their demographic wants this type of content. What do you think?

Both commercials showing that Toyota knows who their target audience is. I feel like overall Toyota has really accepted the fact that the overland/Offroad community is a giant contributor to their sales

Can you name any 4WD SUV that doesn't have similarly-themed ads?
They're selling a lifestyle perception.

Really not paying attention to other car makers, but if I remember correctly not a lot of them target the Offroad community like this did. Many of them promote family friendly, safety and reliability as their selling points. My case in point, Toyota just invited about a dozen Offroad Toyota influencers (a couple of them that I know well) to the Laker game to thank them for promoting the brand.

It would be interesting to know whether the 4runner has a disproportionately large percent of owners that are frequently off-roading, but I don't think such statistics exist. If I had to take a guess though, the 4runner is probably more likely than some others.

Not sure of the ratio of off roading among other brands but I do know that there are a ton of highly customized Jeeps in the S Fla. area that have never been off road.
