Shaky Hood on 'Bluey' 6th Gen 4Runner

OK, my girlfriend name er "Bluey" so sue me. Am I imagining the windshield-side edge of the hood shaking? My 24 Tundra did it and it drove me mad. I swear shes a shakin on my 25 4 Runner Hybrid. Is this just a Toyota thing? I can't imagine they would not know about this issue which makes me think there is a good (but unknown to me) reason Toyota allows this. Whats the best fix?

Yea its an issue with 4Runners for sure but ive never really noticed it much on my 6th gen or my 5th gen but if i stare at it then yes you will see it. I am not aware of a way to fix it though.

You should have two rubber hood support adjustment bushings. Every vehicle has them, or should at least.

You can adjust them up or down so that the hood sits where you want it to. You might need to adjust them higher so that the hood has more tension. This might fix what you're experiencing.

I'll check the 6G tomorrow and snap some pics either way.

Just drive one with the hood scoop to really see shake...its horrible.

For those that are having shaky hood issues, have you tried adjusting these hood bump stops?

MIne seems to only shake right in the little section in front of the driver and passenger between the 2 hood risers. Mine's only minor, don't really notice it unless you look at it. Then it's quite noticeable.

I hear all the cool kids set their suspension to 1 and flop the throttle and think it's the bomb... Makes them think they have prerunners...
