Finally got around to installing the Screen ProTech screen protectors on the 6th Gen 4Runner. The whole kit is pretty dialed. The kit comes with two primary pieces of film. One is for the 14" infotainment screen and another for the gauge cluster. It even includes small covers for the drive indicator and 4WD indicator. Did not expect to get those extra little pieces. Nice touch.

If this is your first time laying down film, I recommend getting the insurance on your kit and adding two of each of the provided films. It’s a good backup in case anything goes wrong, and you’ll be glad you did - especially for the gauge cluster. That one is a bit more challenging to lay down than the 14" infotainment screen.

What really stood out to me, though, is the quality of the microfiber/glass towel they include. This thing has to be worth $10 on its own. lol - it’s rare to see something this nice included in a kit like this. Plus, they throw in a squeegee and a mini mister with solution (just add water), everything you need.

If you're looking to protect your screens, I highly recommend this kit. I've used these on my 5th Gen 4Runners in the past as well and they always hold up nicely over time. Really solid product, and these guys have been around for a long time.

These should be provided with the 4Runners when you buy them off the lot. No-brainer mod for the price.

1. Liberally Spray the Screen and Backside of the Film

Give both the screen and the backside of the film a heavy spray. You want this thing dripping wet. The more moisture on the film, the easier it is to move around. If there is a single dry spot, it will stick to the screen and you won't be able to move the film.

2. Squeegee Air Bubbles Out

Once the film is in the perfect spot, take the squeegee and remove all the air bubbles.

3. Apply Gauge Cluster Film

This is where you might want insurance (a second set). The gauge cluster is a little bit more challenging because it's curved, but as long as you have enough moisture on the film, you should be fine.

4. Squeegee Air Bubbles Out

5. Apply Film to the Remaining Glass

@ClarkeBar - I did the Anti-Glare. It's more like a matte finish and almost has a rubberized texture on it. I thought I would like it more because of the matte aesthetic, but I may switch to the HD version. When you tap the screen, it's not that bad, but when you pinch to zoom on maps, the rubber texture takes some getting used to.

I've been running the Screen Protech stuff on my 5th Gen 4Runner for a few years. Still holding strong. Once in a while, you will get some debris buildup around the outside of the protector, but it's easy to clean with a microfiber and the same spray that Screen Protech provides. All in all, it's held extremely well over the last few years.
