Windshield Damage/Repair Advice for 6th Gen 4Runner Owners?

Hey everyone,

I just noticed a small chip developing in the windshield on my 2025 6th Gen 4Runner, and I want to get ahead of it before it turns into a big crack. Has anyone here dealt with this on a 6G?

How quickly did it spread for you, and what did you end up doing?

Are DIY repair kits worth it, or should I just take it straight to a pro (especially with Toyota’s advanced windshield and camera tech)?

Also curious if certain glass brands hold up better for our 4Runners.

Best take care of it soon. Mine was chipped 6 mos ago but I neglected to address it. A couple days ago it completely cracked from bottom to top. My insurance makes it easy to get replaced, or repaired in the case of a chip, so next week I'm taking it in to the shop.
