Help me understand bolt pattern - Putting wheels on my 6th Gen 4Runner

Hey Guys, I'm fairly new to the mod game, I have a deposit down on. a 6th gen and am looking at sending wheels to the dealer to have the installed before I pick it up. However, I have a few questions about wheels to make sure I don't screw up and get something that doesn't fit.

1.) can someone explain beadlock vs. regular and will beadlock work on a 6th gen?
2.) Is bolt pattern black and white? from what I can find, the 6th gen bolt pattern is 6x139.7. does any wheel I get have to be 6x139.7 or just in that range?
3.) can someone also tell me about offset? from what I can find, it looks like you can get *almost* any offset within reason, but want to verify.

Any help would be appreciated!

1. Beadlocks vs. Non-Beadlock: Yes, a beadlock wheel will fit on a 6th Gen 4Runner. Beadlock wheels have a ring on the outside that LOCKS the bead of the tire to the rim. This prevents the tire from coming off the wheel when aired down extremely low (5-10PSI). If you plan on serious rock crawling then go with beadlocks. If you plan on airing down to only 15-20PSI then you do not need beadlocks.
2. Bolt pattern is black and white. 6x139.7 (metric) is the 6th Gen 4Runner bolt pattern, however, it's often referenced as 6x5.5 (imperial).
3. 6th Gen 4Runner has a large + (positive offset).... around +45mm to +55mm offset from the factory. The more + (positive offset) a wheel has, the more it will sit inside the wheel well. The more - (negative offset) a wheel has, the more it will sit outside the wheel well.

In most cases, the more - (negative offset) a wheel has, the more likely that wheel/tire package is to rub on the fender liners and body mount.

If you don't want any rubbing, stick with a +25mm to +45mm wheel offset.

If you don't mind rubbing and want a more aggressive stance, you can go with a +0mm to -25 offset.

Again, in most cases, more - (negative offset) will cause more tire rubbing.

also, a question on the offset. If the 6th gen has an offset of +45 and then you get a wheel that is -12 offset, does that make your offset +33? 45-12? or does it take the offset all the way from +45 to -12?

Your last part is correct.

If you buy a wheel with a -12mm offset, your new offset is now -12mm.
